The Raweekanlaya Bangkok offers a garden-focused hotel stay on Krung Kasem Road, with compact city-wing rooms as well as more elaborate suite choices. The most important booking distinction is unusually clear: the Montha category has no window. A calm garden elsewhere on the property should not be mistaken for a garden view from every bedroom.

Inside this review

Montha and Mattanee are different starting points

The official Imperial Hotels accommodation listing describes Montha as a 19-square-metre room without a window, on the second floor of the City Wing. Mattanee Superior is also listed at 19 square metres but on the third floor. If daylight and an outside view are essential to you, the Montha label is a decisive detail before price or decorative style enters the comparison.

Booking.com distinguishes Mattanee Superior, Mattanee Executive, Mattana Deluxe and Premier, plus several named suites. Its table includes a Taywet Suite with a private plunge pool. That private pool belongs to a specific suite description; it is not an amenity that comes with every small City Wing room. Comparing the same property at different prices without matching the category can therefore produce a misleading impression of value.

Ask about the actual route to the room

A Montha guest who stayed in March 2026 liked the quiet atmosphere and staff but noted the lack of a lift. The hotel’s reply confirmed that some heritage-style buildings do not have lift access and offered to consider lower-floor requests subject to availability. That is more precise than declaring the entire property either fully accessible or entirely stair-only.

For someone with mobility limitations or heavy luggage, the important questions are the assigned building, floor and steps on the route from reception. A room being on a lower floor is not the same as a verified step-free route. The gardens may be an appealing place to spend time, but they do not resolve the access requirements of the room itself.

Use the garden and shared pool as part of the stay

The hotel publishes a shared swimming pool, fitness facilities and wellness treatments, as well as garden-related activities. These make the property more than a place to sleep between sightseeing stops. A traveller who plans a pause after a hot morning in the old town has a reason to compare the setting, while someone leaving early and returning late may get less use from those features.

An August 2026 Mattanee Superior family guest praised the gardens, room and attentive staff. A June Mattana Deluxe couple particularly liked the pool as a place to relax and described the rooms as clean and well maintained. Both are specific category-linked experiences. Neither implies that every room overlooks the gardens or that wellness treatments are included in the room rate.

A northern old-town address

The property stands on Krung Kasem Road in Bang Khun Phrom, north of the central palace temple district. This makes its calm, green setting the main reason to consider the address rather than promising that Wat Phra Kaew is immediately outside. Wat Benchamabophit and the eastern old-town temples are distinct journeys to organise from this side of town.

The June Deluxe guest found a nearby pier useful for visiting Chinatown. Treat that as an example of how they used the location, then check the pier and actual service operating on your dates. A waterside departure can be useful without every boat serving every temple, and no hotel-room upgrade changes the river route itself.

Raweekanlaya is a strong candidate for a traveller who wants to spend meaningful time in a garden hotel and is prepared to choose a room carefully. The clearest trade-off is between the modest windowless City Wing option and categories with different space, outlook and suite facilities. Confirming daylight, floor access and the exact meaning of any pool description will do more to improve the stay than relying on the resort label alone.
