Sivalai Place Bangkok

Sivalai Place’s kitchenette apartments, balcony distinctions and sports facilities suit longer Thonburi stays more than a temple-front overnight stop.

EDITORIAL REVIEW · 642 words · 4 min read · Editorial date 13 January 2026

Sivalai Place Bangkok is an apartment-style option in Bangkok Yai, with kitchenettes and a collection of sports facilities that distinguish it from a conventional short-stay bedroom. Its current official presentation is directed towards longer stays, students and independent travellers. For a temple visit, the value lies in living space and time at the property, rather than walking straight from the door into the major sights.

Apartments, with a meaningful balcony distinction

The official website advertises a kitchenette in every apartment. It lists Studio with Balcony, One Bedroom Double without Balcony and One Bedroom with Balcony formats, with headline sizes of roughly forty-eight, fifty and fifty-two square metres respectively. These are different layouts, not a single room type with a balcony automatically attached.

Booking.com separately lists a Two Bedroom Deluxe Apartment with Balcony. The configuration may appeal to a family or friends who would otherwise book two bedrooms in a hotel. A two-bedroom apartment should still be compared by its actual beds and shared living arrangement; a listing’s maximum capacity does not settle the comfort of every group.

The kitchenette is a more substantive reason to consider Sivalai than a decorative description. It offers independence over some meals on a longer stay. The exact appliances, cookware and provisions should be established for the offered apartment, rather than importing the equipment shown in a photograph of another unit.

Inside this review

The facilities suggest a stay with time between outings

The official facilities page lists a swimming pool, fitness room, games room and tennis courts. It also describes equipment hire and coaching for tennis. These are useful distinctions for an active longer visit, but the presence of a court does not establish free equipment, a complimentary lesson or a guaranteed playing slot.

The games room contains pool and table-football equipment, while the rooftop is presented as a place to relax and look over the city. The rooftop and swimming pool are separate features. A traveller should not read a general reference to rooftop relaxation as proof of an infinity pool above the skyline.

The owner describes the swimming-pool treatment as ozone-based. That is an operator’s description, not an independent water-quality test or a medical assurance for anyone with sensitivities. The practical attractions are space to swim and a property with facilities to use after an outing, rather than a health claim.

What apartment guests report

A guest account on Booking.com praised the apartment, pool and on-site leisure facilities. The exact review date was not securely established in the available text, so it is not presented here as a dated assessment of current maintenance. It supports the experience of that guest rather than an assertion about every apartment.

A Trip.com guest review dated 21 March 2025 liked the pool and rooftop lounge views. That is older evidence, but it is specific to facilities that remain in the current official description. The guest’s own comment about the water treatment is not independently established and should not be turned into a guarantee.

The residential location needs to fit the plan

The address is 168 Isaraphab Soi 33, Tha Phra, Bangkok Yai. Sivalai’s official presentation emphasises community and longer-term living, while Booking.com identifies a residential setting in a guest account. That makes it a different choice from a room overlooking the river directly opposite the historic city.

Wat Arun, Wat Kalayanamit and Wat Paknam are possible outings from this side of Bangkok, but they are separate destinations requiring route planning. No direct hotel shuttle or easy continuous temple walk is established here. A visitor with only one night and a tightly packed historic-city schedule may have little use for the apartment’s cooking and leisure facilities.

The strongest match is a longer-stay visitor who wants a kitchenette, deliberately chooses the balcony arrangement and will use the pool or sports facilities. The limitation is the available individual guest evidence, which is less current than the property’s own room information. That favours a careful apartment-level decision instead of treating the whole building as a uniform hotel room.
