New Siam Riverside offers a riverfront base on Phra Athit Road with a broad range of standard, river-view and balcony categories. The river setting and shared pool are the reasons to consider it. Recent guests also describe older rooms, making the exact outlook and current condition more important than assuming every room delivers the same waterside experience.

Riverfront property does not mean a river-view bedroom

The official accommodation list separates Superior Double and Twin from Superior River View Double and Twin. The standard and Superior river-view categories are listed at 24 square metres. This makes the outlook a specific booking choice rather than an automatic benefit of staying in a hotel beside the water.

The same page lists a Superior Triple at 26 square metres and a Deluxe River View Double at 30 square metres, plus a Deluxe Balcony City View. A balcony with a city view and a river view without an explicitly named balcony are different offers. If sitting outside above the water is the purpose of the booking, the room description needs to confirm both elements.

Some bed descriptions on the official table appear mismatched to the category labels, and its triple occupancy field is not clear enough to infer three adults. Those inconsistencies make the confirmed offer more important than extracting a bed count from the overview. A group should establish the actual beds and permitted occupancy rather than assuming that the word triple settles every arrangement.

Inside this review

Guests value the river and pool, while noticing age

A September 2026 couple in a Superior Double with River View felt the riverside position compensated for tired rooms. They particularly enjoyed breakfast outdoors and found the pool larger than expected. Their account also said evening bar closing times varied during the stay, a useful caution if late drinks beside the river are central to your plans.

A May 2026 solo traveller who explicitly booked a double room with balcony and river view was pleased with that choice. This is more informative than a general “nice view” comment because it identifies the feature bought. A July Superior Twin guest also liked the peaceful pool and restaurant. These accounts help explain why the hotel can work for someone prioritising waterside time over a newly styled interior.

The limitations appear in other accounts. March 2026 guests described rooms as dated, and one felt cleanliness did not match other Bangkok stays. A January river-view guest disliked aspects of breakfast and room furnishings. These are individual reports, not a current inspection of all rooms, but they make it sensible to compare condition and outlook together. Paying for a view should not be mistaken for a guarantee of a freshly refurbished room.

A Phra Athit stay with a useful shared frontage

The verified address is 21 Phra Athit Road. The hotel is a separate business within the New Siam group from Palace Ville and the numbered guesthouses. Check the property name and address carefully: a booking elsewhere in the group does not inherit this hotel’s river frontage. Similar logos and related names do not establish the same address or river access.

For the temple itinerary, the palace temple and Wat Pho lie south of Phra Athit, while Wat Saket and Wat Ratchanatdaram are inland. River transport can be useful, but the correct pier, service and stop pattern should be checked for the actual destination. A riverfront breakfast is a hotel feature; a practical boat journey depends on transport arrangements outside the room.

New Siam Riverside is most convincing for a traveller who plans to use its shared waterside setting and is comfortable comparing an older room product. Choose the standard, city-balcony or river-view arrangement consciously, and confirm any triple layout. Someone mainly seeking modern interiors may prefer another option; someone who values the water and a pool break has a specific reason to keep this hotel on the list.
