EDITORIAL REVIEW · 653 words · 4 min read · Editorial date 9 April 2024

New Siam Palace Ville is an alley-set old-town hotel at 56 Trok Rong Mai, with a shared pool and double, twin and triple rooms. It is a distinct property from New Siam Riverside. Its current English name should not be read as a promise of a palace view, and recent guest detail makes bed space and air-conditioning comfort important parts of the comparison.

Identify Palace Ville before comparing related names

The current operator site and booking platforms use New Siam Palace Ville. Some older listings transliterate the name as Palace View, but the address at 56 Trok Rong Mai is the useful identifier. This is not the New Siam property with river frontage at 21 Phra Athit Road. Choosing the right group member matters more than assuming every related listing shares the same outlook.

The setting is in Chana Songkhram around the northern old town, useful for an evening around Rambuttri or Khao San. The palace temple and museums are outings to plan, not views guaranteed from the bedroom. Check what a particular room actually overlooks rather than reading the old name as a room feature.

The published floor areas help with group decisions

The official accommodation page lists Superior Double and Twin rooms at 21 square metres, Superior Triple at 28 and Deluxe Triple at 30. These are distinct categories with different amounts of space. Two friends wanting separate beds have a Twin category to compare; three travellers should look at the actual triple layout and usable space around the beds.

The operator table contains unclear bed and occupancy fields for the triple categories, so its names alone do not verify every party arrangement. A July 2026 Superior Triple family guest felt that a third bed had reduced the space substantially. That is one stay’s experience, but it illustrates why a published floor area should be considered alongside the layout, luggage and number of occupants.

The pool and breakfast have supporters

An April 2026 Superior Twin family guest praised the pool, staff and breakfast buffet. A July Superior Triple family guest also liked the pool, food and helpful staff. These are specific reasons to consider a short stay that includes time at the hotel, rather than choosing it solely as a low-cost sleeping address.

Another June triple-room account found the location quiet and useful for exploring, while still describing the room as small. A positive overall experience does not require the room to be spacious for every group. A couple using a twin or double room may judge space differently from a family occupying three beds.

Cooling and room condition deserve attention

The July Superior Triple guest who found the room tight also reported noisy air conditioning and said only one keycard was provided. A September triple guest described cleanliness and cooling problems followed by multiple room moves. These are dated individual complaints, not a finding that every current room has the same issues, but they are relevant when assessing a family’s need for dependable sleep.

Other guests report more comfortable stays, including a May 2026 Superior Double family who praised cleanliness and service. The mixed accounts suggest comparing the exact room condition and current response to cooling concerns rather than relying on either a single very positive or very negative verdict. Companions planning to separate during the day should clarify key access as well.

A practical short-stay fit

The hotel works best as a modest old-town pool base for travellers who understand the property identity and room size. River transport from the surrounding district may be useful, but this is not a rail-station hotel or a riverfront room guarantee. Wat Phra Kaew, Wat Pho and the inland temple circuit each need actual routes from the alley entrance.

For a family, the choice between Superior and Deluxe Triple should be grounded in the confirmed bed plan and the small difference in published area. For two friends, the Twin category offers a clearer starting point. Palace Ville can be a workable short-stay option, but its most important details are practical: room space, cooling, key access and the correct address within the New Siam group.
