Inside this review
The pool is useful, but expectations differ
A Trip.com family guest who stayed in July 2026 praised the peaceful atmosphere, attractive pool and a small but functional gym. A solo Deluxe Double guest from the same month described the pool as small and the gym as a room with weights, with limited common space. These are compatible observations from different travellers: an intimate pool can be pleasant without providing the scale expected by someone planning a full resort day.
The family’s account suggests a stay where a swim is an interlude between outings. The solo guest’s account is a useful caution for someone who wants extensive indoor lounges or a substantial fitness programme. A facility being available and a facility being central to your holiday are different questions, so the intended use should drive the comparison.
Staff and the room experience
A July 2026 guest in a Deluxe Triple praised the staff’s efforts to make the stay comfortable and found the position workable for reaching Khao San. Another July Deluxe Double guest had a positive overall stay but noted mosquitoes around an open-air smoking area. That observation concerns a particular outdoor space and season, not a finding of an insect problem in every guestroom.
The solo Deluxe Double guest also described the room as somewhat dated but equipped with basic toiletries. This gives a more balanced picture than calling the entire hotel either pristine or tired. The evidence supports comparing a personable, relatively modest property whose shared areas are appreciated by some guests, while recognising that room freshness and recreation space may not meet every expectation.
North of the palace circuit
The current address is 632 Wisut Kasat Road in Phra Nakhon. A July business guest specifically linked the location to the old town and Rama VIII Bridge. That helps place Nanda more accurately than treating the word heritage as proof that it stands next to the Grand Palace entrance. The northern setting is its own neighbourhood choice.
Wat Ratchanatdaram and Wat Saket can form an eastern old-town outing, while Wat Benchamabophit is another separate direction. The palace temple and Wat Pho are visits to plan rather than facilities of the hotel. Avoid converting a guest’s individual walking estimate into a reliable timetable for every visitor, especially when heat, crossings and entrance locations change the effort involved.
Nanda works best for a traveller who values a smaller pool hotel and a quieter pause between activities. It is less persuasive for someone who needs a large gym, extensive shared lounges or a room immediately at a rail station. A clear bed arrangement and realistic expectations of the pool and north-old-town position will make the decision more useful than selecting it solely for its heritage styling.
