Inside this review
Family and Executive rooms serve different needs
The current official room list separates King or Twin Deluxe and Premium rooms from Executive rooms with lounge access. It also lists a King Family room, Family Suite and Panoramic Executive Suite. These names signal meaningful differences; a suite or family category should not be inferred from a photograph attached to a general hotel listing.
Hilton’s family page advertises arrangements with sofa beds, additional living space and connecting rooms, alongside a playground near the all-day dining venue. Connecting rooms are an available arrangement rather than an assurance that two independently booked rooms will connect. The actual bed configuration matters more than the broad label family-friendly.
The Executive Lounge is described as offering breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails with canapés. Hilton states that children under twelve are not admitted after 17:00. For a family paying for lounge access, that restriction changes the evening value of the upgrade. It is a property-specific condition, rather than a general prohibition on children staying at the hotel.
What lounge guests report
An individual Tripadvisor guest described an Executive King stay with lounge access after a Diamond-status upgrade. The guest liked sleep quality, breakfast and the lounge. That experience should be read with the upgrade context intact: it is not evidence that a Deluxe booking routinely includes Executive benefits.
A September 2026 Tripadvisor guest who had an Executive room also praised the lounge breakfast, afternoon tea, evening canapés and views. These comments support the lounge as a reason some guests deliberately choose the Executive category. They do not establish that every menu item or food selection will remain the same.
For travellers who will be away at the temples through the afternoon and dine elsewhere at night, those benefits may be less valuable than they were to these guests. The upgrade makes more sense when the daily itinerary leaves time to use the lounge, and when everyone in the party can use it at the relevant hour.
Pool time and the final choice
Hilton advertises a twenty-metre infinity pool and a gym, while the family page identifies child-oriented dining and play details. These give the property a clear role as a hotel in which to spend some of the day, rather than solely a room between sightseeing stops. Their presence does not make poolside supervision or a children’s programme part of every stay.
The strongest decision is between a family-oriented room arrangement and an Executive stay built around lounge time. Both can take advantage of the river location and hotel boat. Families with younger children should account for the evening lounge rule before paying for that benefit; other visitors should decide whether the larger riverfront hotel experience justifies the onward journeys to the historic districts.
