Inside this review
The White duplex is a separate family choice
White is described as a 38-square-metre family duplex with space over two levels and access to the upstairs terrace. The official occupancy is four with an additional-person option. This is a more relevant starting point for a family than trying to treat one of the smaller doubles as a family room. The split levels also deserve attention for anyone who finds internal stairs difficult.
Because these bedrooms are individually arranged in a wooden house, a booking should identify the actual room rather than accept a general expectation based on the largest photograph. The extra-person notation does not establish the final bed, charge or suitability for every child. Those details belong to the confirmed room offer for the travelling party.
The river house has its own rhythm
The property’s official description places terraces around both floors of the house. This offers a shared place to sit near the water even when guests are not on a private balcony. The river is a working urban waterway, so the attraction is watching life on the Chao Phraya from the house, not a promise of a silent lake or a swimming beach.
Lynleigh G’s January 2026 Tripadvisor review concerns three days using both Blue and White. The guest liked the clean, distinctive rooms, breakfast and staff, and particularly valued the location. Their practical tip was to have the directions in Thai ready for a taxi. That is useful advice for this specific entrance within temple grounds, rather than evidence that a driver will recognise a hotel name alone.
Choose the location for Song Wat and Chinatown
Song Wat places the stay in the Chinatown riverside area. Wat Traimit and Talat Noi can form part of a wider day in this side of Bangkok, while Wat Suthat and the Grand Palace district remain separate excursions. The small-house setting provides a different experience from booking a large riverfront tower with a roadside lobby and a standardised room corridor.
A Trip.com review published in March 2026 described the Red bedroom as dark while still enjoying the house’s unusual decoration. Combined with the official range, that gives a reason to choose according to light, floor and room arrangement rather than assume every colour supplies the same river panorama. The Red room is called Double Classic by the property, unlike the explicitly named River View rooms.
Loy La Long fits travellers who actively want an individual wooden house, a terrace and time watching the river. It needs more thought from guests who require a conventional level-access hotel, uniform bedrooms or a large range of resort facilities. Its character comes from these differences; selecting the right room is the most important part of selecting the hotel.
