Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel

Avani+ Riverside combines 30-square-metre river-view rooms and a rooftop pool; suite layouts and a 2026 private-event access complaint shape the choice.

EDITORIAL REVIEW · 613 words · 4 min read · Editorial date 21 January 2026

Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel offers an elevated river outlook in a contemporary tower. It is a different style of stay from the neighbouring low-rise Anantara resort: the attraction here is the view from the rooms and rooftop, with a wide spread of suites for travellers who need more than a standard bedroom. Shared facilities should still be assessed as shared spaces, including when events affect access.

Inside this review

The river view is central, not an assumed upgrade

Avani’s official website says all rooms and suites face the river. That makes the basic proposition clearer than a hotel where only one premium category has that outlook. It still does not mean every room has the same angle, height or expanse of glass. River View, Panorama River View and Skyline River View are separately named choices.

The current room collection identifies the Skyline River View Room at thirty square metres with a high-floor position and workspace. The three standard room labels should be compared by the actual outlook and floor description. A view photograph taken from a corner suite should not become a promise of the perspective from an entry room.

A Junior Suite is larger, but a one-bedroom suite is a different layout

The River View Junior Suite is listed at sixty-five square metres with a daybed, bath, two bathroom basins and a workspace. The dedicated official page allows king or twin bedding. That is useful extra room for someone who wants to spend time looking out from the accommodation, rather than only return to sleep.

The One Bedroom River View Suite is listed at fifty-eight square metres with living and dining areas. Its smaller headline size does not necessarily make it less suitable than the Junior Suite: the more relevant distinction is how the space is divided and whether a separate living arrangement is useful. A couple seeking an open outlook may make a different choice from someone wanting separation.

The collection also includes two- and three-bedroom river-view suites. The largest is described with a central living area, dining space and kitchenette. Those facilities belong to that suite description; they should not be assumed in a standard River View room or in every smaller suite.

Guests confirm the view, with a pool-access caution

An Expedia review dated 5 September 2026 praised a clean room with a panoramic river outlook, along with the pool and restaurant. An Agoda guest, Natthaporn, who stayed one night in June 2026, also highlighted the room and pool views by day and night. Those experiences support choosing the hotel for time enjoying its elevated setting.

A 2026 Trip.com guest in an Avani River View room reported being unable to use the pool in the evening because it had been reserved for a private event. This is a particular stay, not a claim of a routine evening closure. It matters if the entire reason for booking a short visit is a particular rooftop swimming session.

The official website separately promotes the hotel’s event spaces and rooftop dining. Taken together with the guest report, that makes it sensible to distinguish a shared rooftop facility from an amenity guaranteed to be available in exactly the same way every evening.

Transport and the kind of stay it suits

Avani advertises a complimentary shuttle boat towards the BTS connection. That is a useful facility but does not turn the hotel into a temple-front address. Its west-bank location downstream of the principal historic sights means an onward journey to the Grand Palace, Wat Pho or Wat Arun; no fixed journey time is promised here.

Avani+ is most convincing for a traveller who wants a tower view, a deliberate room or suite layout and time around the rooftop. A visitor needing several bedrooms can compare its larger suites without treating neighbouring Anantara room descriptions as interchangeable. The practical limitation is shared-facility access on the actual dates, especially for a one-night stay built around the pool.
